Nir Bar-Gill joined the Department of Applied Physics and the Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in the fall of 2013, founding the Quantum Information, Simulation and Sensing lab.
He completed his B.Sc. (1998) and M.Sc. (2003) in Physics and Electrical Engineering at the Technion, and his Ph.D. (2010) at the Weizmann Institute of Science, in the field of ultracold atoms. He carried out post-doctoral research in Ron Walsworth's group in the Dept. of Physics at Harvard, studying many-body spin physics and coherence properties of Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond.
